In this clip, Adam Stephens, a life-long resident of the NRG, competitive mountain bike racer, and owner of Marathon Bicycles in Fayetteville, describes why he lives right on the rim of the gorge — to take advantage of the perfect mountain bike training ground in his back yard.
Stephens and other avid cyclists are excited for the arrival of the Boy Scouts of America's national Scout jamboree. The rest of the world will find out why they have chosen the New River Gorge as home for adventure.

The Summit Bechtel Reserve is 10,600 acres of the best of Scouting — high adventure like rock climbing, mountain biking, whitewater rafting, zip lines and ropes courses, even BMX and skateboarding. And, there's all the traditional Scouting action, too: shooting sports, archery, pioneering, leadership, team-building, and more.
Located in southern West Virginia, the Summit is the BSA's fourth national high adventure base, and it's the new permanent home of the national Scout jamboree. In 2019, the Summit will host the World Scout Jamboree.
