Practice playing all fundamental modes along with this 7-mode jam track. You can check the modes neck diagrams included in the video to have an idea how all modes related and can be constructed having the same tonic (root) G.

This approach is very useful and actually is what helped me personally understand the modes and apply them in my compositions/solos. below is a demonstration of all modes in a different root and other backing tracks. It will give you an idea about the unique sound of each mode.
