The Dachstein – a place of longing for alpinists since time immemorial – is not “just” a mountain, but with its 2,995 meters, a true mountain personality in the Austrian Alps. In 1969, the Dachstein glacier was opened up to tourism for the first time with the Dachstein South Face cable car. With the reopening  of the completely renovated and modernized mountain station, a new era begins on the Dachstein :
