Vintage Apocalyptic Folk Art & Johnson Tattoo Sign; Garage Explore & Clearance 2024-07-04 - Having the shop building sold out from under us recently meant that there was 40 years worth of accumulated "neat stuff" I need to assess and clear out to store elsewhere; That elsewhere is my home garage. SO, I shot video showcasing a few interesting curiosities stashed-away in there, and a bunch of stuff that I would like to relocate to a better home to free up space!

First off I shoot one of the original signs we had up on the corner for a number of years, hand painted by "The Sign Man" Greg Locke - one of my dad's earliest tattoo clients going back to the late 60's, and father of Vince Locke - illustrator famous for the gruesome Cannibal Corpse album covers, for comics including Sand Man, his own early indie series "Dead World" and much more; Obviously I'm keeping the sign. From there, I shuffle over under the patio where a dis-used but in great shape snow blower sits after removal from a far corner of the garage: I replaced it 4 or 5 years back when I had trouble starting it, and never bothered to get it mechanically checked out. If somebody has the patience to give it a mechanical work-over, it's a nice unit;

I head back to the garage where I feature a sizable piece of interesting apocalyptic folk art and talk about various elements (not up for grabs - this thing belongs in a folk-art museum or something; Maybe I'll figure out a way to hang it in my new office at Cherokee Creek Tattoo in Garden City; Then I rifle through a box of weird old toys and stuff. Next I feature numerous items I could part with if somebody in the viewing audience is interested; Turntables, slide projectors, a reel-to real tape recorder/player; vintage chord organ, a box of about 12 vintage White Truck ads from the '30's varnish-mounted on finished 1/2" plywood with hanging apparatus on back of each; a crate of player-piano rolls I'd hoped to make art out of at some point; 50 uncollated copies of the third issue of my late 90's 'Zine "F.O.D.! Maggotzine"; a top-loading autoclave sterilizer I no longer use; a DBX Project II Rack-Mount Multi-Effects Unit; Tagged onto the end are two vintage projectors I somehow missed: A Bell & Howell Filmosonic 600 Projector, and finally, a cool Revere 777 8mm Projector, both in great shape for their ages.

Please message to make an offer on this stuff - I desperately need the space, and any donated spare cash will help with moving expenses and setting-up a new office to tattoo and pierce out of; Video is a little over a half hour in total. I'll be posting some interesting screen caps from the video in the near future, so keep an eye out at my Facebook profile!
