Описание к видео Venturing Into Mexico 🇲🇽

I visited Mexico to venture into tiny villages, massive cities, meet people, and attempt to scale the tallest mountain in the country.

I flew into Mexico City, met up with my cousin Hayden, and quickly got on the bus to Puebla. Once in Puebla, we checked into our hotel and did some exploring around the city. The next few hours consisted of us walking around and sampling different street foods, everything from sweets to grasshoppers, or Chapulines.

The next morning, we woke up early and were driven to the small village of Tlachichuca by our friend Daniel, who we met via Instagram before the trip. After a couple hours in the car, we arrived and got our first view of Citlaltepetl, the tallest mountain in Mexico. At this point, we were invited into the house of our mountain guide Daniel, where his wife Ally cooked us a wonderful breakfast. We hopped into Daniel’s 4x4 car and he drove us to the Piedra Grande hut, where we would spend the day and night acclimating. In the afternoon, we did an acclimatization walk up about 1,000ft in elevation. Feeling strong, we returned to the hut and rested before dinner and bedtime.

Early the next day (12:00am) we woke up and began our summit bid. This consisted of continuous hiking uphill with minimal breaks. It got colder and colder and harder to breathe as we ascended. Eventually, at the base of the final glacier, my body gave up. I experienced every symptom of Acute Mountain Sickness. After a conversation with Hayden about my condition, we decided to turn around. Of course, the lower we descended, the better I felt. We rested for the remainder of the day.

The next day, we took the bus to Mexico City where we would spend the afternoon and evening exploring. We tried street food, met locals, and visited museums and monuments. We got a nice hotel for that evening before flying out the next morning.

I truly enjoyed my first time in Mexico. Being a native Texan, I always wanted to see what life is like for my neighbors down south. I’m already counting down the days until I can go back :)

Thanks for reading all of this and watching my video. I make a lot of short form content of bonus scenes that I don’t post on these longer videos. Go over to my Instagram or TikTok to see that stuff! Until next time!
