Blue whales can weigh up to 30 elephants. With weights reaching about 100 to 150 tons and some weighing as much as 220 tons, they are more than 30 times the weight of an African bush elephant that weighs around 6 tons.

Blue whales are conscious breathers, just like other whales and dolphins. They only rest one part of their brain at a time, while the other stays alert. This sleep pattern prevents them from drowning.

For an animal so large, a blue whale's diet consists of small crustaceans, small fish, but mostly krill. They can't chew or break down food into smaller pieces because they lack proper teeth and their esophagus is too small to allow them to consume larger animals. These creatures can, however, consume up to 40 million krill, equivalent to 4 tons, in a day.
