A Boeing 747 plane carrying more than 330 passengers was forced to abort takeoff on Thursday in Magadan, a city in Russia's Far East, due to a technical malfunction.

According to RIA Novosti, the aircraft was preparing for a flight from Magadan to Moscow when a strong gust of wind affected its left engine during the takeoff run, causing an engine surge. No injuries were reported.

The Magadan-Moscow flight has been rescheduled for the following day.
