Is Halle Berry's New Horror Movie Copying the Story of This 21-Year-Old Killer? TopCAST

Although the upcoming Halle Berry vehicle Never Let Go looks promising, the post-apocalyptic horror movie also seems like it might revisit a 21-year-old slasher movie’s terrible twist. Broadly speaking, 2003’s Haute Tension was a pretty perfect calling card for French horror director Alexandre Aja. Within three years of the French indie horror movie’s release, Aja was directing a big-budget remake of Wes Craven’s The Hills Have Eyes. 2009’s Piranha 3D followed, as well as 2013’s fantasy horror Horns. However, while Alexandre Aja’s horror movies were mostly financial successes, it is important to note Haute Tension’s limitations.
