The Disgaea 2 PC port was actually a port of another HD port of Disgaea 2, Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days on the PSP, which actually took mechanics from Disgaea 3 and put them back into Disgaea 2, like magi-change.

Disgaea really is its own genre nowadays. It's an SRPG with emphasis on numbers. Although you can grind by fighting enemies thousands of times, it's extremely inefficient, and instead you should make use of traits on equipments and other fun techniques like stacking enemies on top of each other, as well as using the item world. You really don't see many games like it nowadays.

I was surprised that there was another storyline after beating the main story, which stars the hilarious side-character, Axel. Though the plot of Disgaea 2 isn't as strong as 1, it has many funny moments. It's hard to believe I played it originally 11 years ago - this game has all main mission completely voiced and is really a good quality game that has many improvements of life implementations.

These PC Steam re-releases of Disgaea games are amazing, I'm hoping that they'll do these for Disgaea 3 and 4 in the future!
