UGH! REVENGE promises Ghost Andrea he'll see Bel-imperia kill the dude. One of many slips of the tongue/mess ups. Oh well.

So join me in reading four of Shakespeare's fellow contemporary playwrights in August! I KNOW NOTHING!! ...but hope to have a better feel for the scene after reading and listening and watching these plays.

I used the version of the play in Penguin's "Five Revenge Tragedies" edited by Emma Smith for my reading. It is also available on gutenberg for free.

(Yes, the same Emma Smith who has written "This is Shakespeare" that I'm thinking of reading in September. She wrote a good introduction to "Five Revenge Tragedies". Hmmm...)


Also listened to a BBC radio version of the play (abridged) here on Youtube, which was about as complete and dramatized as I could find so quickly:
