A complex sentence contains at least one independent clause and at least one dependent clause.

Examples:

We can form complex sentences with subordinating conjunctions (such as the examples above) or with relative pronouns.
Examples:
• That is the store where I bought this dress.
• Wherever you go, trouble finds you.
