New Therapy Protocol For Colorectal Cancer – Over 50% Had Complete Response!

Описание к видео New Therapy Protocol For Colorectal Cancer – Over 50% Had Complete Response!

Precision Cancer Medicine specialist, Alex Rolland, discusses a recent study that is bringing hope to many patients with locally advanced colorectal cancer – by giving them a much higher chance at long-term remission.

Alex explains the exciting results of the TORCH study, which found that adding a combination of certain therapies prior to surgery made a massive difference to the numbers of colon cancer patients achieving remission.

Significantly, over 50% of patients who received this combination in the trials had something called a “Pathological Complete Response” – also known as pCR. This means there is no evidence of disease anywhere in the body!

More than that, patients who achieve a pCR with this neoadjuvant protocol can expect to be cancer-free for 10 years or more – for many, it means life-long remission. This is compared to only 15% of those who receive the current standard of care and have the same response.

While it is clear from the data that this new protocol should be the new standard of care for locally advanced mCRC, it is not yet standard of care in Canada.

So the question is → How can you tell if you are eligible for this new protocol and, if so, how can you access it from your current doctor?

Alex is joined by Precision Oncology Advocate and CTOAM cofounder, Michelle Morand. They also share next steps to take to find out if this new treatment protocol will work for you and how to access it.
