It’s been almost 14 years since A Dance with Dragons came out, and after all this time, I can feel The Winds of Winter coming!

Since reading George R. R. Martin’s (relatively) recent blog post from 28th May 2025, I genuinely think there’s reason to believe he’s ‘determined’ to finally finish Winds. So I wanted to share some thoughts I’ve had since reading that post, and walk you through the ‘determined’ emotional pattern I’ve noticed, based on a deep dive into every time he’s signed off a blog post with “Current mood: determined” within the past 12 years...
