Stücke für Flöte und Orgel – Hans-André Stamm (b. 1958)

Hans-André Stamm is a contemporary German composer and organist. Born in Leverkusen, he received his first music lessons at the age of seven. Four years later he started to tour Germany and abroad as an organ virtuoso. At thirteen he released his first recording. Stamm studied organ with Hubert Schoonbroodt at the Conservatoire Royal de Musique in Liège, Belgium from 1973 to 1976. Having obtained the Premier Prix avec distinction and the Diplôme supérieur (1976) he graduated at the Robert Schumann Conservatory in Düsseldorf.

Since 1983, Stamm has been a freelance organist and composer living in Leverkusen. In that timehe was written many pieces for organ, works for voice, various instrument combinations, pieces for solo instruments, and a few orchestral works, among which a concerto for the organ. The pieces heard today are a selection from Stamm’s Ten Pieces for Flute and Organ, which he composed in 2010.
