I’ll Knit If I Want To: Episode 90

Описание к видео I’ll Knit If I Want To: Episode 90

Welcome to I’ll Knit (& Spin!) If I want To! I asked y’all to send in some of your questions (from everything from fiber arts, to designing and on!) so I could put together a little video for y’all every Friday doing my best to answer your questions!

In this week’s episode we cover:

1. Can you tell us about that gorgeous yellow and grey yarn on the wall behind you? I’ve been wondering about it for weeks. Love your YouTube videos, patterns and tutorials. Thank you!

2. I would love if you to give us a view of of your needle storage case and how you organized them. You have spoken often how much you love your case but we only get to see the outside.

3. I have just purchased your Andrea Cardigan pattern! I have very precious Gotland yarn and when I saw the pattern was available to purchase, I thought... That's perfect! Now, I have about 1050 yds/690g, which, based on yardage I don't quite have enough, but based on grams I do. My question is... Based on gauge, if you use a larger needle, will you use less yarn? Vs a smaller needle? I'm thinking if I do I slightly larger gauge and knit the smallest size I would have enough, but I don't know if I'm thinking about this correctly? Thanks so much for your input! You are always part of my Friday's!

4. Hi Andrea, your weekly videos are such a joy that I look forward to watching! I’m curious about your sock blocker, I’ve seen on your wall. It looks wooden with heart cutouts. Where did you get that, and is it still available from the maker? Also — I’ve started looking into getting one now that I’ve started working on your Curio socks and plan to cast on your Bear Paw and DRK Everyday Socks as well. I’ve seen the metal ones and wood ones, with prices varying quite a bit. Have you noticed a difference in materials for them, and have recommendations to a first time sock blocker buyer (try saying that five times fast!) Thanks so much and keep rocking!

5. Hi Andrea! Sometimes when I knit cardigans, I find myself not liking the final outcome because the opening of the cardigan (where the button placket located) is longer than the rest of the knit. If I wear the cardigan without the buttons on, the 2 edges of the opening near my waist (bottom side of the button placket) will be the lowest part of the cardigan where the back side of the cardigan will be shorter. Is there a way of fixing? Why the garment ends up like that? I hope I explained this well enough, thanks in advance!

6. Hi Andrea! I've learned so much from your podcasts. Since you've been chatting about the Weekender a lot lately, I thought of a question! I've knit one Weekender already and am planning on casting on another soon. On my first one, I noticed the neckline pulled up in the front, I think just because of my specific body proportions. I've knit one other drop-shoulder sweater, and the same thing happened. For my second Weekender, I'd love to know if it is possible to lower the front neckline slightly to account for this, so that the edge doesn't sit so high up on my neck. I'm not sure how I'd adjust the pattern to account for this. Thanks so much!!
