Low Washer Fluid Light: (Causes And How To Reset). In this video tutorial I will show you how to reset low washer fluid light.

Here are the causes and how to reset;
Low fluid level
If the washer fluid level in the tank runs low, the low washer fluid light activates. To reset the light, add washer fluid to the reservoir. If the light does not go off, turn the ignition on and off (do this a couple of times).
If this method doesn't work for your vehicle, check your car's manual for the recommended procedure to reset the washer fluid light, as it can vary depending on the make and model.

When choosing a washer fluid:
• Make sure to use a washer fluid that is ideal for the environmental conditions of your location. If you choose the wrong washer fluid, it is likely that it will not be effective for use in certain weather conditions or even freeze during the cold seasons.
• Alternatively, you can fill the reservoir with water. However, be aware that water is not effective for removing grime or oil from the windshield and is likely to result in bacterial growth in the reservoir.
• Also note that if your car has a sensor that detects the quality of washer fluid in the reservoir, using water will trigger the sensor, and the low washer fluid light will not go off.
Damaged or compromised fluid level sensor
A damaged or compromised fluid level sensor will not turn off even after filling the reservoir with washer fluid. Therefore, it is likely to inaccurately indicate low fluid levels. In addition, it will keep the low fluid light on even with a fully filled reservoir.

To reset the light, go to the passenger’s fender behind the front bumper and look for the washer fluid bottle; the sensor is in the bottle. To remove the old sensor, carefully disconnect any electrical connectors, and be aware that some vehicles might require removing the entire washer fluid bottle if the sensor is built into the unit. Be sure to check your vehicle's manual for any specific instructions. After replacing the sensor, reconnect everything and check if the light turns off; avoid electrical issues by following applicable safety protocols; also, confirm that you have the right part. Alternatively, book an appointment with a professional; it is likely that there are other underlying issues.
In some cases, the sensor might be integrated with the washer fluid bottle, requiring the entire unit to be replaced. If this is the case, it’s best to consult with a professional.
