DAISY CAKE POPS!

In this last tutorial we will be doing another beautiful flower tutorial perfect for the spring season. This is definitely one of the easier but still gorgeous looking tutorial of this easter cake pop project. I really like the petals because it finally gave me the chance to work with one of my favorite fondant flower mold again. Made my day. Hopefully it does yours as well.



INGRIDIENTS:
cake, binder (frosting, cream cheese or buttercream), white candy coating, paramount crystals, white fondant. Yellow and orange nonpareils


EQUIPMENT:
microwave, microwave-safe bowls, 1 mixing bowls, baking sheet, 1 containers for dipping (I use 4 inches tall café latte drinking glasses), 5 inches cake pop sticks, Styrofoam block, plastic wrap, spoons, wodden ministicks, toothpicks, paper towel, plastic wrap, rolling pin, knife, small brush, bakers starch, piping gel, daisy fondant flower mold, paper piping cone


BAKE IT!
Preferably the day before. The cake has time to cool completely what really helps to shape the cake pops perfectly.

SHAPE IT!
I love to work with a cold, frigde temperated dough because it makes shaping much easier. So let the dough rest in the fridge for a couple of hours. Before you start knead the dough shortly. Shape the base for the daisy cake pops in the amount of cake pops that you need. Fix parts you don`t really like right away. The dough sets and dries out what makes fixing more difficult. Then place the cake pops on the cookie sheet cover with baking sheet and covered them with plastic wrap.

DIP IT!
Melt your candy coating by exactly following the instruction given on the package. Candy wafers are a bit tricky and sticking to the instruction is key. Dye your candy coating easily at home by fallowing the color guide instruction down below. Dip your lollipop stick about ¼ of an inch into the melted candy coating and push the stick halfway through the cake pop and let it dry for a couple of minutes. Next dip the cake pops completely. While the coating is still wet use a toothpick to get rid of the air bubbles and let them dry.

DECORATE IT!
Take your fondant and make 3 daisy flowers for each cake pop. Next cut out the center of the daisy flower. With some left over candy coating and a small paper piping back you can attach the first row of petals. Let it dry shortly and go for a second row of petals. It makes the flower more dimensional and realistic looking. In our last step we use some piping gel to “glue” the yellow and orange nonpareils to the center of our daisy cake pop. And that is it for today and for the season. I wish you all a great holiday and fun in the kitchen by preparing some stylicious and delicious cake pops for eastern.
