I made this video for someone I saw doing an unfortunately unsafe demo and video over on TikTok. There were multiple comments sharing excitement over finally knowing how to use it, and I wanted to create this as the video showcased some very unsafe babywearing.

Things most commonly seen and showcased in that video:
☑️ Overly loose fabric- baby not supported and too low in general.
☑️ Supporting baby's head by completely covering in fabric
☑️ Breastfeeding a newborn fully hands-free with baby tucked inside the carrier no longer visible. Some people may be able to breastfeed in certain carriers completely hands-free (I am one of them) however, a newborn needs a different level of support and the majority of carriers are not going to provide that without fully covering baby's head which then puts them at risk of both positional asphyxiation and suffocation.

Things to consider with this carrier:
💗 Keep it nice and snug, baby sitting high on the chest
💗 Support baby with your hand or arm while breastfeeding
💗 Make sure the secondary piece of fabric is utilized- It may be reused while fully hands-on breastfeeding, but general use it does need to be on for your baby to be safe. The fabric on the mom cozy does not provide enough support to only use the two pieces of fabric on baby that are connected to the panel.
💗 When properly tightened and baby is sitting high in the panel (not breastfeeding) this is fully hands free.
💗 If utilizing a piece of the fabric to support baby's head, bring the fabric to baby instead of pushing baby's head back into the fabric. In general, I recommend not using this as much as possible. It can cause over tightness of the muscles on one side when over used, it reduces babies' ability to strengthen their muscles (remember this is like tummy time and they should be strengthening their muscles), and it can increase the risk of positional asphyxiation and suffocation. It can be useful to do this when baby is sleeping and you are doing something more active, just be aware of the risks and how to properly support their head without covering their face!
