Michelle is like many people and really wants to get involved in a career where she's helping others. The opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the elderly can be extremely rewarding, as she discovers at a visit to a Whangarei rest home.

She finds out there are many different requirements throughout the day and the role could include anything from helping a resident dress for the day to joining in with arts and crafts or getting out in the garden. Michelle also learns about some of the more specialised care aspects needed for some of the residents.
