The father of the patient contacted us from Sudan for the purpose of treating his 14-year-old daughter, who needed a kidney transplant, and the donor was the father.
After the patient came to our hospital in Istanbul, the preparatory examinations for kidney transplantation were performed for the patient and the donor.
Which lasted for about a week, after the results of the tests appeared, it was found that the donor suffers from prostate cancer and has spread to the lymph nodes and is in an advanced stage.
Attention is drawn, in this case, to treating the donor because his disease is in an advanced state. Diagnostic tests were performed, including: prostate biopsy, prostate scan, magnetic resonance, and after the results appeared, we decided to perform a prostatectomy and remove the entire lymph nodes and part of the bladder.
Treatment plan and patient follow-up mechanism
After conducting diagnostic tests for the prostate, which include:
• Clinical examination
• Blood tests and X-rays
• Special positron emission tomography of the prostate
• Histopathological biopsy of the prostate
The results of the examinations were studied by the Council of Physicians, and file decision for the patient condition was that the patient needed a prostate operation
