MARSHAL TITO'S LONDON VISIT

Описание к видео MARSHAL TITO'S LONDON VISIT

(19 Mar 1953) During the war, the Yugoslav partisans fought one of the bravest campaigns on record. Tito, their leader, rallied the patriots and pinned down a dozen German divisions. And now, President Tito arrives in the Thames Estuary on board his country's training ship "Galeb". Transferring to a fast Port of London Authority launch, he is taken to Westminster Bridge, where he is welcomed by Admiral of the Fleet the Duke of Edinburgh, by Mr Churchill and by the Foreign Secretary. After the inspection of the Royal Naval Guard of Honour and the departure of the Duke, someone in the crowd let off a smoke bomb. Marshal Tito went to Number Ten Downing Street and later went to the Cenotaph where he laid a wreath to fallen allies.
