The first time I came across this type of fitting I did not know what it was and ended up breaking it. This time I did some research first and found a special tool was needed. I guess looking at the tool in a emergency you could do it with a bit of flexible tube that you split and pushed into the fitting. It would do the job but for $20 I decided to buy a set at AutoOne. Apparently you need it for the fuel filter as well.
