Master The Classics: Cosmopolitan 1934

Описание к видео Master The Classics: Cosmopolitan 1934

The Origins of this drink are shrouded in the mists of time. We do know that it is somewhat of a variation on a Daisy although, unlike the Daisy Cocktail, Raspberry syrup does consist of simple syrup with Fresh raspberry macerated into it. So this will be a it sweeter. The first mention of this cocktail was in the 1933 book Pioneers of Mixing At Elite Bars. This is how it appeared:

1 Jigger Gordon's Gin
2 Dashes Cointreau
Juice of 1 Lemon
1 tsp. Raspberry Syrup
Shake with Ice and serve in a cocktail glass.

This is the Classic cocktail and not the 1987 version created by Toby Cecchini and popularized by ladies of Sex And The City. Also, this is my version of the drink in which I have omitted Cointreau which I feel adds too much sugar.

Here's The Specs:

1934 Cosmopolitan
2oz Gin
.75oz Lemon Juice
.75oz Fresh Raspberry Syrup
Shake, Strain, Coupe

Also, little side note: In the video I say shake between 30-40 seconds which is you watch closely I'm not doing. When I first began making videos I was a bit nervous in front of camera and some details escaped my notice. Not so any more, here's a note to let you know to never shake for more than between 8 and 10 seconds, so you wont kill your cocktail. Sorry for the mistake but since this channel is all about proper technique I had to clear it up! Thanks! And please subscribe!
