মৌরলা মাছের তেল ঝাল || একবার এই ভাবে বানিয়ে দেখুন গরম ভাতের সাথে জমে যাবে || Mourola macher


Ingredients:

500 grams of Indian River Shad (Morola Mach), cleaned and cut into pieces
2 onions, chopped
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 tablespoon of ginger paste
1 tablespoon of garlic paste
2-3 green chillies, slit
1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
1 teaspoon of coriander powder
1 teaspoon of cumin powder
1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
1 teaspoon of red chilli powder
1 teaspoon of garam masala powder
2 tablespoons of mustard oil
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander leaves for garnishing
Instructions:

Wash and clean the Morola fish pieces thoroughly.

Heat mustard oil in a pan and fry the fish pieces on medium heat until they become light brown. Remove them from the pan and keep aside.

In the same pan, add cumin seeds and fry until they start to crackle.

Add chopped onions to the pan and sauté them until they become translucent.

Add ginger and garlic paste to the pan and sauté for a few more minutes.

Add chopped tomatoes to the pan and cook until they become soft and mushy.

Add cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and salt to the pan. Mix well.

Add enough water to the pan to make a gravy and bring it to a boil.

Add the fried fish pieces and green chillies to the pan and simmer for 10-15 minutes on low heat.

Add garam masala powder to the pan and mix well.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and your Morola Macher Tel Jhal is ready to be served. Enjoy it with steamed rice or roti.

Note: You can adjust the amount of spices and chillies as per your taste. This dish goes well with a side of lemon wedges and onion rings.
