Despite his alignment with the British Empire’s oppressive goals in the American Colonies, he made the decision to travel to America to manage a struggling iron mine during a period when revolution loomed large. Join us to discover how this British businessman shifted from being a loyal subject to a valued ally of General Washington and an ardent patriot for the American Revolution.

William “Billy” Neumann is a New Jersey historian and a Certified Historic Preservationist. A five times Chairman of Rutherford’s Historic Preservation Commission, former Chair of Bergen County’s Historic Preservation Advisory Board and VP of Preservation NJ. Billy has authored three local history books, and is a full time Professional Photographer who is currently researching and capturing images to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of America’s War for Independence.
