Today, we bring you a recipe of homemade tomato ketchup that you can easily make at home and store for a few days.
Tomato ketchup is a type of seasoning with a sweet and tangy flavor made from tomatoes, sugar and vinegar with seasonings and spices. The spices and flavors may vary but commonly include onions, coriander, cloves, cumin, garlic, mustard, celery, cinnamon, ginger etc.

Tomato ketchup is most often used as a condiment to dishes that are usually served hot and are fried or greasy like french fries and other potato dishes like samosas, snacks, burgers and sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken tenders, grilled or fried meat etc.

It is sometimes also used as the base for other sauces and dressings.

--Ingredients

Tomato 750g
Sugar 1 cup
Dry red chilli 3
Vinegar 1 to 2 tbsp

--Optional
Onion 1 medium size
Ginger 1-2 inch
Garlic 3 cloves
Water


--Prepare tomato ketchup

Use a non-stick pan/pan.
Once the pan is hot, add chopped tomatoes, dry red chilli, sugar, vinegar, (chopped onions, ginger, garlic are optional).
Stir well and cover with a lid.

Cook until the tomatoes are completely mashed(soft and mushy).
Set aside and allow it to cool.

Use a mixer to make a fine paste.
Then strain it to get a smooth and creamy ketchup.
Yummy homemade ketchup is ready! Transfer it to a clean and dry glass bottle.
