This is my second time upgrading a DeWalt DW735 thickness planer with a SHELIX cutterhead, so instead of wondering how to do it, I was more interested in how I could do it better than the last time. There's always room for improvement and usually more than one way to get the job done right, but I think this video is going to make the whole process go a little smoother for anyone doing this upgrade. Video production details:
▻ Video was recorded with a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra phone, mostly in 4k 60fps, but some was in 8k 24fps so I could record details from farther away. For the few parts where I filmed both sides simultaneously, I use a GoPro Hero 4 as the secondary camera.
▻ Audio was recorded using a Rode Wireless Go and a Rode lavalier microphone.
▻ I used Cyberlink Director Suite 365 for video, audio, and photo editing, and that's also where I get most of the sound clips and music tracks.
▻ My editing computer is a Dell XPS 8930 with a 6-core i7 8700 processor, 32 Gb or RAM, and a GeoForce GTX 1070 video card, which is surprisingly underpowered for this type of work.
