India is stepping into a new era of air power! 🇮🇳✈️
Reports suggest that the Indian Air Force (IAF) is considering acquiring 140 Su-57 Fifth Generation Fighter Jets in collaboration with Russia. The plan includes:
👉 2 Squadrons (around 36 jets) directly from Russia
👉 5 Squadrons (around 90 jets) produced locally in Nashik under license production

This move is not just about buying jets – it’s about defense self-reliance (Atmanirbhar Bharat), strategic autonomy, and strengthening India’s global military balance.

The Su-57 is a stealth, multi-role 5th generation fighter jet equipped with:
⚔️ Advanced radar systems
⚔️ Long-range air-to-air & air-to-ground missiles
⚔️ Electronic warfare capabilities
⚔️ Internal weapons bay for stealth advantage

If successful, this project will boost India’s local defense production capacity, reduce foreign dependency, and support indigenous projects like AMCA (Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft).

But there are challenges:
⚠️ Technology transfer from Russia
⚠️ High production costs
⚠️ Time-bound delivery
⚠️ Political pressures and sanctions

Will India move ahead with the Su-57 deal? Should we focus more on AMCA? Or is a combination of Rafale + Su-57 + AMCA the perfect strategy for the IAF?
