Oh, Eternal One, God of compassion and mercy,
As we gather in the sacred stillness of Shabbat, we lift our hearts heavy with grief for the lives lost, and the loved ones taken from us during these times of great hardship. On this special day, as we also celebrate another year of life, we find solace in the act of giving, in reaching out to our Jewish family in their time of need.
We remember those brave souls who have departed, the children, fathers, mothers, and our beloved elders. May their spirits find eternal peace, and may their memories be a blessing that forever illuminates our path. The sound of the shofar, the horn of the realm, reminds us of their courage and resilience, and we pray that it may also guide us through the darkest hours.
As tears threaten to fall, we extend our prayers beyond borders and boundaries, bridging the divide that separates us. Let this message of empathy and unity resonate across nations, so that the world may feel the profound pain we bear, the ache in our hearts for the distant family lost in Israel.
May our collective sorrow become a powerful force for change, inspiring compassion, healing, and unity among all people. On this day, as we remember our own journey and those we have lost, may our actions of love and generosity bring comfort and hope to our Jewish family in their time of need.
In the spirit of tikkun olam, repairing the world, we offer our prayers, our support, and our unwavering love. Amen.
