Abbotsbury Swannery is amazing!

This week, we make a very special trip to ‪@AbbotsburySwanneryDorset‬, the only place in the world where you can feed a managed colony of mute swans. There are around 200 swans on this part of the Fleet lagoon in the winter, and that number soars in the Spring, when pairs of swans look to find a suitable nesting site. Abbotsbury Swannery is ideal because of the abundance of food.

On this visit, we mass-feed the 200 swans on the Fleet, find out more about swans and the history of the site, and help with a bit of maintenance around the site.
