Following in the wheel tracks of the RAM 1500, Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150, Toyota’s mighty full-size American-sourced Tundra has landed in Australia as an official release.

Just 300 examples of the locally right-hand-drive-converted Limited Crew Cab variants will hit Aussie road initially, leased to customers under the ‘Tundra Insider Program’ for at least 12 months before final specification is finalised for wide-scale Australian release.

In a segment first, the Tundra is powered exclusively by a hybrid drivetrain. The petrol-electric powertrain features a 290kW/650Nm twin-turbocharged V6 and 36kW/250Nm electric assistance for total outputs of 326kW and 790Nm. Aussie Tundra is rated to tow a whopping 4500kg.
