Disney's Beach Club Resort! Join us for our first ever stay at the charming and elegant New England-style resort, Beach Club! We share a room and resort tour as well as breakfast at Cape May Cafe.

Before we moved to Florida, we set a goal of staying at each one of the Walt Disney World Resorts. Beach Club is a Deluxe Disney Resort as well as a DVC property. For our stay, we were in a studio at the Beach Club Villas in the DVC section. Just outside the Villa building is a beautiful statue of Ariel welcoming guests. The studio sleeps up to five guests with a queen bed, a sleeper sofa and a twin pull-down bed (featuring Donald!). The decor is in keeping with the beach theme with light colors and beachy wall hangings. There is a bedside table as well as a moveable sofa table. The twin pull-down bed is converted from a table with two chairs- we appreciate this as a space-saving feature. We found drawer space lacking as there were only four small drawers on either side of the pull-down bed. Compared with the other deluxe resorts at Disney, we found the studio on the small side. The kitchenette has a mini-refrigerator, microwave, toaster, and coffee maker with supplies, and paper goods. The bathroom has a separate space for the tub/shower and toilet with the vanity in the open space. H2O products are provided. The storage closet contains the room safe, iron and ironing board, as well as a vacuum cleaner. We were not able to fit both of our suitcases in the closet and close the door. The room did have a nice balcony with two chairs and we had views of green space. Overall, we made the room size work for our family. If we had a lengthier stay there may have been challenges with the lack of storage. The room was quiet and we liked the location.

Beach Club and Yacht Club are sister properties and share the best pool at Disney, Stormalong Bay. Given their proximity to one another, it is very easy to take a quick walk between the resorts. This feature affords even more dining options for guests. The boardwalk is also nearby. One of the greatest appeals of staying at any of these Epcot area resorts is the proximity to not only Epcot but to Hollywood Studios as well. The Swan, Dolphin, and Swan Reserve are also relatively close. We share a walk-through of Beach Club including the beautiful lobby. From the carpeting to the floral arrangements and even the light features there are touches of beach decor throughout. We love to "smell the lobby" at every resort, but the smells at Beach and Yacht Club are among our very favorite. Cape May Cafe is just off the Beach Club lobby and is open for breakfast and dinner. Beaches & Cream Soda Shop is located just outside (near Stormalong Bay) and is home to the famous Kitchen Sink. We are always up for a meal at Beaches & Cream- we highly recommend the grilled cheese and tomato soup. The No Way Jose is also amazing! The walk-up window for Beaches and Cream has reopened. The mini kitchen sink is a fun treat to enjoy poolside! Beach Club is a large resort and in addition to the restaurants on-site, there is an arcade as well as a gym. Beach Club Marketplace has both resort and park-themed merchandise offerings as well as a variety of food and beverages.

Stormalong Bay is billed as a massive waterpark with 3 acres of fun. There are three pools, a lazy river, a 230-foot-long waterslide, and several hot tubs. We love the sand-bottom pool! Guests can play volleyball, build sand castles, and lounge poolside. Cabanas are available for rent as well. There is definitely enough to do at Stormalong Bay to spend all day! Hurricane Hanna's Waterside Bar and Grill is the resort pool bar. We have enjoyed some quick service meals such as salads and wraps at this location. Outside the gated area are some sandy beaches with lounge chairs and swings. The dock is also nearby. This is the location for taking one of the boats to the parks with access to transportation to both the Epcot and Hollywood Studios.

Cape May Cafe has recently resumed buffet offerings. While we miss the character dining at this location, we were excited to sample their current breakfast offerings. The buffet has a variety of typical breakfast fare including eggs, sausage, bacon, and Mickey waffles. We were pleased to find the omelet station as well as the crepe station. The food was delicious and the service was fantastic. We recommend adding a meal at Cape May to your Beach and Yacht Club travel plans.
