Today we got to see the second episode of The Amazing Digital Circus. The Episode being called Candy Carrier Chaos. I’ll give a summary of the episode as well as some things that you missed. The episode starts off with Pomni abstracting while the world around her warps. When she falls into a pit, she wakes up, revealing it to be a nightmare. Once Pomni has a quick conversation with Ragatha, they both go to the main section of the circus where Caine sends them to the Candy Kingdom to help the people get back some stolen Maple Syrup which is a valuable resource in their world. When they arrive, they speak with the Candy Queen who gives them a kind greeting. We also see some stained glass on the castle that has Caine on it. This reminds me of the stained glass design on Peach’s castle from Super Mario 64. They leave in a massive truck with a container on the back so they can bring back the syrup. We are then introduced to the crocodile bandits, who apparently come from another town entirely. The main crocodile says that he has a mother back home that is ill, and needs the syrup to live. When the crocodile’s find out that they are being pursued, they drive off, and a chase begins. During the chase, Jax throws Pomni out of the truck and after a quick Spiderman reference, she is stuck on the other truck. After the truck Pomni's on collides into a weird bit of geometry, the truck falls through the map. The other truck falls off a cliff and we see Jax still stood on the truck while everyone else is in the truck. This probably being a little reference to the Looney Toones like physics. We are then shown a room that Pomni and the main Crocodile get sent to a Developer Room. If you don’t know what a developer room is, it is basically where the developer of a game makes a room where you put all of the models, items, and interactable things. Just like in this episode where all of the models are A or T posing in the room. It is at this point where the crocodile questions his own existence as he finds out that someone has made his entire world. We then cut to the others who have met a fudge monster. This monster was kicked out of the kingdom for eating civilians, and Jax makes a deal with the monster where if the monster helps them get the syrup back to the kingdom, Jax will give him the keys to the Kingdom. Meanwhile, Pomni promises to the Crocodile that she will bring him back to live with everyone at the circus and they blast off again. After everyone meets up and they sort out their differences they go their own ways. After delivering the Syrup to the kingdom, and Jax sabotages the kingdom, they head back to the circus where Caine kills Gummy, and Ragatha announces that there will be a funeral for Kofmo. During the funeral we see that Pomni gets a nice realization that the others will care if she abstracts and will try to prevent it. Overall, I think that this episode was great and the animation was as smooth, which is nice to see since this episode had a lot of hype. My only criticism is that it felt too fast. Plot points felt a little sudden and rushed, however it was still a great episode and I am sure this won’t be a recurring issue.
