The worlds 1st commercial Biogas plant was established in India in the year 1901, The second mile stone came over 5 million small biogas plants dot across India. 2018 came up as a decisive year with announcement of SATAT Initiative by India, where Indian entrepreneurs were encouraged to access the huge retail and pipeline network through government oil marketing companies, there on we are seeing the policy is improving every month and more ministries are being roped in to make it an overall success.
The ambitious mission to make Bharat a developed country with its tag name ‘Viksit Bharat’, the country is not just chasing compressed biogas/biomethane as a greener & sustainable energy but also a shear needs to reduce energy import to ensure enough budget to allot for the cause of development and improving on SDGs. It is not just a choice, but it is a compulsion.
The mission is clear: The world can continue to Invest in fossil, but investing in sustainable is unavoidable implication
