Upgrade:

• Coil over Through A Arm
◦ Both are non-invasive, will not impact the chassis and can be returned to
stock for Mustang, Falcon, Fairlane, Maverick, Cougar Comet Montego

Mustang II for Mustang, Falcon, Fairlane, Maverick, Cougar Comet Montego
• Used on the Mustang II from 1974 to 78 and Pinto from 1971 to 1980
◦ Improved geometry over stock
◦ Better packaging for engines.
◦ Ample room for engine activities.
◦ The most invasive as massive change are made to the frame system.

McPherson Strut for Mustang, Falcon, Fairlane, Maverick, Cougar Comet Montego
• First used in 1950 on the Ford Consul in Britain.
◦ Improved geometry over stock all around.
◦ With today’s shock technology, arguably the most modern of the three. Still in
use.
◦ With notching kit, engine bay is opened up for activities.
◦ Can be non-invasive, can be returned to stock

Features to look for in aftermarket suspension:
SLA (Short Long Arm)
• Preset Positive Caster
• Changes to the arm to allow for better camber changes (Arning Drop)
• Roller or Del-a-lum pivot bushings
• All can be used with aftermarket racks or steering boxes

SLA Coilover
• All of the features from the Tubular arms.
• double adjustable shocks in the coil-over.
• Ride height adjustable coil-over.
• Most have available rack and pinion systems though you can use aftermarket steering boxes

Mustang II (has camber change built into the system)
• Double adjustable shocks
• Drop spindles for lowering the cars ride height from the suppliers setting if desired
• Brakes
• Engine bay block off plates for the suspension

McPherson Struts (has camber change built into the system)
• Double adjustable shocks
• Adjustable ride height
• Brake options
• Easy to replace consumables (Pads, Calipers, Shocks non-proprietary components)
• Most have available rack and pinion systems though you can use aftermarket steering boxes
