Genesis 28 – Jacob’s Journey, His Dream, and God’s Promise

In this chapter, we follow Jacob as he leaves home—sent by Isaac to find a wife among his mother’s family. But on this journey, something incredible happens: Jacob has a divine dream. He sees a ladder reaching from earth to heaven, with angels ascending and descending. God speaks directly to him, confirming the covenant made with Abraham and Isaac.

God promises Jacob protection, blessing, and a future so great that his descendants will spread across the earth and through them, all families of the world will be blessed.

When Jacob wakes, he realizes he has encountered the presence of God. He sets up a stone pillar, names the place Bethel (“House of God”), and makes a vow to follow the Lord faithfully.

✨ This chapter reminds us that even when we are on the run, uncertain, or alone, God meets us right where we are with promises, purpose, and guidance.
