It was just a murmur when it hit the air
It spread like wildfire on a burning tear.
Merely a murmur barely understood.

Merely a murmur whispered down the line
Gets contorted distorted misreported every single time

It’s all grist for the mill once it’s out of the vault.
When you’re served up a dish take it with a grain of salt
