Settle Petal is about trying to squeeze the honest out of someone, and the frustrations that come with people who are so good at lying that they lie to themselves. The verses are a little passive aggressive, and very apathetic. Think over it, meh. The choruses take you to that place of anger. It captures the point at which you give up trying to get to the bottom of the truth verses. I almost see the choruses as a kind of controlled anger, like when a person's face begins to crack, but they’re somehow still smiling, and the eyes are filled with rage, and you hear the sound of a boiling kettle…you get the idea lol.
