ZPF Demo October 2023 - Real Sega Mega Drive (Genesis) Gameplay

Early October 2023, Mega Cat Studios released a demo of the upcoming new shooter for the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis. A Kickstarter campaign

This is my first attempt at playing the game, surprisingly all three demo level are covered from start to finish.

Art design, music and sound are top notch. The parallax scrolling outdoes itself with being jimpoweresque, but this is only nice for watchers, not for the player. If the team spends time on playability tweaking, and probably tuning down the parallax scrolling a bit to be less confusing (especially in the space level), this may be a worthwhile release to look out for. So far though, I personally prefer the less awesome-y but much cleaner, less parallax-y and thus much more playable alternative Irena Genesis Metal Fury (   • Irena Genesis Metal Fury (Kickstarter...  ).
