Hoot Owl Hoot! is a new cooperative board game for preschoolers. In so-called cooperative games, everyone plays together as a team against a common obstacle instead of competing with each other. In this game it's nighttime, and the young owls need to get back to the nest. Players must help the owls get back home before the sun rises. Place the six owls on the start positions, and place the sun token on the sun start square. Each player is dealt three cards. On your turn, you must play one of your cards in order to move your owl around the board. If you play a yellow circle card, move your owl to the nearest yellow circle. After you move, discard that card and pick up another from the pile. If you have a Sun Card in your hand, you must play it on your turn and move the Sun Token up one space on the sunrise track. If all the owls make it to the nest before the Sun Token reaches the end of the track (before the sun rises), you win. If it reaches the last space before all the owls are home, move your owls back to the beginning and try again. Because all players are working together, players can move any of the six owls on their turn. Players are also encouraged to talk about their hand of cards and, together, plan on how to get the owls home.
