TACE stands for Transarterial Chemoembolization. A catherter is inserted into your groin and the catherter is pushed to hepatic artery and straight to the tumor. Chemo is injected through this catherter, so that the chemo directly acts on the cancer. And the path is blocked with gels to keep chemo in the tumor bed.
