How to Hoop A Cap | Cap Hooping & Embroidery Challenge

It’s time for the big game, and no, we’re not talking about the Super Bowl... instead, we’re talking about the Ricoma Bowl! This week on Embroidery Hub, two rookie embroiderers go head-to-head to see who can hoop a cap the fastest and with the most precision. You’ll learn tons of cap hooping techniques from Willy as he coaches our players from the sidelines and judges the final results. It’s an exhilarating and educational episode, and like our contestants, you’ll be a pro at hooping by the end of the fourth quarter!

In this episode, Willy goes in-depth into the cap hooping process as he teaches two rookies how to hoop a cap properly. As our two contestants watch, Willy goes step by step from loading the cap ring onto the hooping station, to centering and securing the cap on the cap ring, and finally loading it onto the cap driver of the machine.

Does your cap shift when placing the strap, causing to be off-center? Willy’s got a tip to fix that.

Once the lesson is over, the real fun begins!

Each contestant will have their chance to hoop their cap as fast as they can. Willy will time each contestant as he encourages them and offers even more advice from the sidelines. Once each contestant successfully hoops their cap, Willy will examine their work and declare a winner.

Being as picky as he can be, Willy takes both hooped caps and looks for perfect placement of the strap on the bill of the cap, a tight and secure fit, and correct alignment of the cap. Then, once he chooses a winning cap, he puts it to the ultimate test by embroidering a design on it!

In the end, there will only be one winner, so make sure to watch all the way through to find out who wins the 2021 Ricoma Bowl.
