In a dramatic political development, K Kavitha, daughter of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, has resigned from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) following her suspension from the party.
Speaking to reporters in Hyderabad this afternoon, Kavitha said, “I have no greed for posts. I am resigning from the BRS and submitting my resignation to the Speaker.”
Her departure comes days after she was suspended by the party, which cited “ongoing anti-party activities” as the reason. Kavitha, a Member of the Telangana Legislative Council, questioned the move, insisting she had worked tirelessly for the party and its causes.
“I took part in several programmes, raised issues like backward class reservations, and actively opposed the Congress — all while wearing the BRS flag. I don't understand how any of this can be seen as anti-party activity,” she said.
