The war in Sudan has displaced more than 12 million people, including over 700,000 who have crossed the border into Chad, where they live in refugee camps in the desert and contend with inadequate resources and services.

Aisha B. is a Sudanese refugee working as a health promoter with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in Chad. Despite the horrors she has seen, Aisha has hope. “I see that I can make a difference with my work at Doctors Without Borders,” she says. “I tell people, ‘You are not alone. We are here for each other.’”
