-Rigging with BlendShapes is super easy using Maya's sculpting tools.
Pose Space Deformers let you connect blendshapes to poses of a skeletion (or other influence objects).
-What we are going to do now is take a step back and rebuild the face rig but instead of using joints we will be using #blendshapes.
-You can create a blend shape deformer for an object that you want to be deformed by a series of shapes. This object is known as the base object. You can create multiple blend shape deformers on an object, each with its own set of target shapes. For example, you could have one deformer for the mouth and one for the eyes to keep the shape animation calculations separate for different parts of the face.
You can create a blend shape deformer using the Blend Shape Editor or by selecting Create Deformers .. Blend Shape.

To create a blend shape deformer

Select one or more deformable objects for target object shape(s), and then select one deformable object as the base object shape.
Select Create Deformers .. Blend Shape . .
In the Create Blend Shape Options, set the creation options. (See Create Deformers .. Blend Shape and Advanced deformer options.)
Note:

The default Front Of Chain option is only available for blend shape deformers.

To create a new blend shape using the Blend Shape editor

Note: When you create blend shape deformers using the Blend Shape Editor, new blend shape nodes are chained sequentially by default. If you want to put one blend shape node in conjunction with another one, change the Deformation order in the Advanced deformer options to Parallel. See Advanced deformer options.
Select all targets, and then select the base.

You must select the base last.
Open the Blend Shape editor (Window .. Animation Editors .. Blend Shape).
In the Blend Shape Editor menu bar, select Edit .. Create BlendShape
The new blend shape node and slider(s) appear in the Blend Shape editor.
