YARN: LOOPS & THREADS IMPECCABLE – I USED 4 SKEINS
NEEDLE: 3.75 & 4 MM & 4.5 MM(ONLY FOR BIND OFF)

SWATCH & GAUGE: 4” X 4” = 17 STS X 26 ROWS
DESIRED NECK OPENING MEASUREMENT: 22”
MY ACTUAL NECK: 12”
FRON NECK OPENING TO ARMPIT: 7”
WIDEST PART INCLUDING BOTH ARMS: 42”

[MATH]
NECK (CAST ON): 4” : 22” = 17 STS : [X STS]
X = 22 X 17 / 4 = 93.5 --- MUST BE MULTIPLE OF 12, SO 96

WIDEST PART: 4” : 42” = 17 STS : [X STS]
X = 42 X 17 / 4 = 178 --- MUST BE EVEN NUMBER, SO 180

HEIGHT FROM NECK TO ARMPIT: 4” : 7” = 26 ROWS : [X ROWS]
X = 7 X 26 / 4 = 45.5 --- MUST BE EVEN NUMBER, SO 46

TOTAL INCREASE: WIDEST STS – CAST ON NUMBER
180 – 96 = 84

I have to increase 84 stiches before the armpit, which is before 46 rows
84 / 12 = 7 times – increase 12 stitches in 1 row X 7 times
46 / 7 = 6.5 – increase 12 stitches in 1 row every 7th row
Increasing row: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th, 36th, and 43rd

CAST ON: 96 or multiple of 12

RIB: (K2, P2) until your desire length

PREP ROW: All knit X 1 row with adding 2 side markers
The back piece stitch count should be multiple of 10 – must be an even number
EX) 96 / 2 = 48 --- I picked 50, so my back piece is 50 stitches, and 48 stitches for the front piece

[JAPANESE SHORT ROW (YOU MUST WATCH THE VIDEO)]
MATH for your base #
Decide how many rows you want to increase – For me, 10 Rows (This is why I have stitch count with multiple of 10 for my back)
TOTAL STS OF BACK PS / # OF YOUR INCREASE ROW – FOR ME, 50 / 10 = 5
MY JSR BASE # IS 5

[GAP ROWS]
GR1(KS): K UNTIL SIDE M, & TURN
GR2(PS): YFSL1P, ADD M, ALL PURL UNTIL SIDE M & TURN
GR3(KS): YBSL1P, ADD M, ALL KNIT UNTIL LAST 5 STS BEFORE LAST GAP & TURN
GR4(PS): YFSL1P, ADD M, ALL PURL UNTIL LAST 5 STS BEFORE LAST GAP& TURN
REP GR3 & GR4 UNTIL YOUR DESIRE ROWS

[CLOSING THE GAP ROWS]
CR1(KS): ALL KNIT UNTIL THE FIRST GAP, PULL M & HOOK ST ONTO LN, THEN K2TOG, ALL KNIT UNTIL NEXT GAP AND KEEP CLOSING THE GAPS UNTIL LAST GAP & TURN

CR2(PS): ALL PURL UNTIL THE FIRST GAP, PULL M & HOOK ST ONTO LN, THEN P2TOG, ALL PURL UNTIL NEXT GAP AND KEEP CLOSING THE GAPS UNTIL LAST GAP, & TURN

ALL KNIT TO BEG M, AND THEN 1 MORE JSR ROW: ALL KNIT WITH CLOSNG LAST GAPS

[LAST GAP CLOSING]
FIRST GAP – JSR WITH KNITTING
LAST GAP – M1R & K2TOG

[INCREASING]
Add markers, 96 / 12 = 8, every 8 stitches X 12 markers
K until marker, M1R, and repeat at every markers
Keep increasing until your desired (planned) size

[SEPARATE SLEEVES]
DIVIDE BY 4 PS such as back, front, 2 sleeves
Whole STS / 6 = Base #, for me, 180 / 6 = 30
Back: Base # X 2, for me, 30 X 2 = 60
Front: Base # X 2, for me, 30 X 2 = 60
Each Sleeve: Base # X 1, for me, 30 X 1 = 30 each

K until sleeve marker, Transfer all the sleeve stitches with the scrap yarn, then ADD NEW CASTS (12 STS or your desire stitches), then k until the other side, and do the same thing.

[BODY]
Knit until your desire length.

[BODY bottom Increase (optional)]
I increased 24 STS within last 10 rows
You can increase as many as you want, but 10 to 20% of current stitch count would be ideal.
If it’s too many, it will be wavy.
[RIB] 3.75 mm
(K2, P2) until your desire length

[STRETCHY BIND OFF]
With 1 size bigger needle

[SLEEVE CONNECTION – 4 MM NEEDLE]
TRANSFER ALL SLEEVE STS ONTO THE NEEDLE
ADD MARKER AS FOLLOWINGS
1. BEFORE LAST ORIGINAL
2. IN THE CENTER OF NEW CASTS (BEG M)
3. BEFORE LAST NEW CASTS

KNIT UP AS FOLLOWS
2 EXTRA, ABOVE NEW CASTS (12 STS FOR ME), 2 EXTRA,
ALL KNIT UNTIL 1ST MARKER, SSK, K2TOG, K UNTIL 2ND MARKER, SSK, K2TOG, ALL KNIT UNTIL BEG M

[SLEEVE DECREASING MATH]
3 NUMBERS YOU NEED
1. CURRENT STS COUNT – 42 STS
2. GOAL STS COUNT – 40 STS
3. DESIRE LENGTH WITHOUT RIB – 17”

ACCORDING TO MY MATH
I DECREASE 2 STS at the bottom of sleeves, just before the RIB

EXAMPLE: if I want to decrease more than mine such as 28 stitches for my goal
IF YOU DO YOUR MATH MANUALLY, HERE HOW YOU DO IT
MY GAUGE: 4” X 4” = 17 STS X 26 ROWS
MY DESIRE SLEEVE LENGTH: 17”
4” : 17” = 26 ROWS : [X ROWS]
4X = 17 X 26
X = 442 / 4
X = 110 – THIS IS THE ROWS YOU HAVE TO KNIT TO REACH 16”

{46 STS (CURRENT STS COUNT) – 28 STS (GOAL STS COUNT)} / 2 = 9 TIMEs
116 / 9 = 12.8

I WILL DECREASE 2 STS IN 1 ROW EVERY 12 or 13 rows

[SLEEVE DECREASE METHOD]
DR: K1, K2TOG, K UNTIL LAST 3 STS, SSK, K1
KEEP KNITTING & DECREASING FOR YOUR DESIRE LENGTH

[SLEEVE RIB 3.75 MM NEEDLE]
(K2, P2) UNTIL YOUR DESIRE LENGTH
STRETCHY BIND OFF
