How to Obtain Certified Copies from the civil Court
Certified copies of the suit and the documents are required for many purposes:-
1. If it is a civil Suit and you Deposit any original documents before the court, in order to have a record, you need to obtain certified copy.
2. If any order/ Judgment/Decree has been passed against you, and you wish to challenge the aforesaid order/ Judgment/Decree, you need to obtain certified copies.
3. If any authority, government office or other appropriate authority or other court required the record of any other court, you need to obtain certified copy of the same.

Sometime litigants often complaint that the Clarks of lawyers charge too much for obtaining certified copy from the court.
If you are a litigant in the litigation, you can easily obtain certified copy from the court. It is very easy process.

1 Point No.1:- General Rules Civil (1986) says about the obtaining certified copy in a civil case. Rule 218 to Rule 249 of General Rules Civil (1986) says about the procedure, fees, who can obtain certified copy. How it can be obtained etc.
Rule 222 of General Rules Civil (1986) says that both the parities to the suit can obtain certified copy from the court .
Rule 223 of The General Rules Civil( 1986) says that a stranger can obtain the certified copy of the Final Order, Final Judgment and Decree of the Suit.
With the permission of the court, he can also obtain other documents if he state the reason for obtaining the same and the court permits him to do so.
2 Point No.2:- All forms contains the simple information;-

1. Name of the Court
2. Case Number
3. Type of Case:- Civil, Criminal, Miscellaneous
4. Name of the Litigants
5. Details of the Applicants :- Applicants is plaintiff, defendant
6. Certified copy of which documents your are required :-
7. Name and Address and mobile number of the applicant
8. Court fees which is generally Rs 2 /-
3 Point No.3 :- Who can obtain the Certified copy
 Both the Parties in person
 Plaintiff
 Defendant
 Counsel of Both Plaintiff and Defendants

4. Point No.4:- Court can give the Certified copy of the following documents to the parties. Strangers cannot obtain certified copies of all documents while litigation is going on :-
 Pleading
 Plaint
 Written Statement
 Application
 Original Documents filed by the opposite party
 Statements of the witnesses
 Order sheet
 Any interim order
 Final Order
 Judgment
 Decree

5. Point No.5:- If a judgment and decree has been passed, any person can obtain certified copy of the Final Judgment and Decree from the court .

6 Point No.6:- Actual Expenses incurred in obtaining certified copy of the order:-
 it depends on state to state , court to court, tribunal to tribunal
 Generally Form Available on internet, or stamp vendors or photocopy machine of the court in Two to Five Rs.
 Rs 1 or 2 per page in the form of coping ticket, or if they deposit cash , they will provide you receipt.
 Generally office of the court demands to deposit the court fees coping ticket
 Some tribunals demands fees in the form of Indian Postal Order
 It can be deposited through demand draft
 In the Debts Recovery Tribunal Rs 5 per page and some time rs 100 Indian postal Order

7 Point No. 7:- Procedure to obtain certified copy

A. Purchase a Form
B. Mention the Complete details of the matter
C. Deposit the Form before the coping section/Relevant Clark of the Court/Tribunal
D. Deposit the Requisite Court fees or stamps or IPO
E. Obtain the certified copy after putting receipt from the Clark.

8 Point No.8. When The court can reject your form
 If you are not a authentic person/ if you are a stranger
 If you does not fulfill the required information
 If the information filled by you is incorrect or incomplete
 If You do not deposit the court fees within prescribed time limit
