In this video I built a *3V mini hydroelectric generator* using a plastic bottle.
I made a small fan/turbine from the bottle, mounted a 3V DC motor inside the casing, and attached an LED directly to the motor shaft.
When water flow turned the turbine, the motor acted as a generator and the LED lit up — a simple demo of converting water kinetic energy into electricity.
Materials Used
• Plastic bottle (body / turbine blade)
• Small 3V DC motor (used as generator)
• DIY fan/impeller cut from bottle
• LED (1.5–3V)
• Wires and glue / tape
• Small pipe or water flow setup (bucket, tap or stream)
Working Principle
Water flowing over the improvised turbine blades spins the motor shaft.
The rotating motor generates a small DC voltage (~3V) which powers the LED.
This demonstrates basic hydroelectric conversion: **kinetic (water) → mechanical (rotation) → electrical (LED light)**.
Safety
• Keep all electrical connections dry and insulated.
• Use low-voltage motors and LEDs only (safe for demo).
• Do not connect to mains AC.
• Secure moving parts and keep fingers away while testing.
• Test in an open area and avoid slipping hazards from water.

This is a small educational project perfect for school science fairs and DIY creators.
