Teff is a teeny tiny grass seed from Africa. We are exploring it to celebrate Juneteenth. This is a first time with cooking teff, so I can’t guarantee that it’ll come out great.

This seed is classified as a whole grain, just like quinoa. It is naturally gluten-free.

Creamy Teff Recipe:
Serving Size: 2

Ingredients:
1/2 cup dry teff
1.5 cup water

Tools: Small non-stick pot with tight fitting lid, wooden spoon, measuring cups for water and teff.

Note: Teff Cooking Ratio is 1 part grain, 3 parts water (1:3)

Instructions:
1. Add water and teff to small pot. Bring to a boil.
2. Once it comes to a boil, cover simmer over lowest heat for 10 minutes.
3. Stir with wooden spoon, carefully scraping the bottom until the mixture looks well incorporated
4. Serve immediately to avoid it from becoming sticky.
