It's important when you're interviewing potential attorneys that you're candid with those attorneys so they can evaluate all of the facts and circumstances of your case and get a true understanding of what's going on.

When choosing an attorney, there's a few things that are really important. First, you want to choose someone that you trust and with whom you have a good rapport. Obviously, the attorney client relationship is an important one and you want to be able to have frank, candid and sometimes difficult conversations with those people.

Second, you really want someone who can explain things in a way that you can understand. If the attorney isn't explaining things in a way that you can understand when you're interviewing attorneys, chances are when the issues get more complicated and things get more difficult, you're going to have trouble communicating about whatever the issues are. And that's going to make representation difficult for everybody.

Bottom line: you want to find somebody you trust. You want to find somebody you have a good rapport with and you want to find somebody who can explain things in a way that you understand. You also want to find somebody who knows what they're doing. That's obviously critically important.
